Ideal for those seeking to connect with the tranquility of the forest, this excursion takes place just an hour’s drive from Patagonia Camp, west of the national park, on the banks of the Pingo River, in a rarely visited setting that is full of life.
The route begins by crossing areas of scrubland and Magellanic forests, where the landscape opens up to reveal views of the river’s meanders and the mountains that dominate the horizon. Along the way, we pass through grazing areas used by park rangers’ horses, reflecting the historical link between nature and conservation in this territory.
*For this excursion the use of trekking poles is mandatory, the hotel provides these implements for all its travelers.
Further on, the trail enters a forest of lenga and coihue trees, creating a cool, quiet atmosphere, ideal for leisurely walking. The first part of the excursion ends at a crystal-clear stream frequented by salmon, where you can observe birds and wildlife in their natural habitat.
We provide travelers with trekking poles, helmets and give them a reusable water bottle.
