Ideal for forest tranquility seekers, this excursion combining two different hiking trails is situated on the west side of the park, at the banks of Pingo River. We traverse ancient shrubland and Magellanic forest, enjoying views of the river’s meanders and Mount Paine Grande. Lunch will be at a beautiful waterfall.
Moving on, we pass through grazing areas for park rangers’ horses, then enter a Lenga and Coihue tree forest. The first part ends at a salmon frequented stream, offering occasional wildlife sightings.
Next, we cross the Pingo River to reach an ancient Lenga forest by Lake Grey, offering views of the Paine Massif and, if weather permits, distant icebergs. The journey continues with an ascent to a viewpoint overlooking Grey Lake.
We provide travelers with trekking poles, helmets and give them a reusable water bottle.
