The Mount Ferrier Lookout is celebrated as one of the National Park’s exceptional viewpoints, providing expansive views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Fields, when weather conditions permit.
Starting from the Grey Park Ranger Station, the adventure begins with a challenging ascent up one of the steepest slopes on the park’s western side. The trail winds through dense Pre-Andean shrub and ancient Lenga forests, vibrant with summer greens and autumnal reds.
*For this excursion, the use of trekking poles is mandatory; the hotel provides these items for its guests.
As the rewarding endpoint of this trek, the exposed rock lookout provides spectacular views of the Paine Massif, Sierra Baguales, the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, and the surrounding lakes, rivers, and expansive pampas of the Argentine Steppe. The experience is further enriched by the usually strong winds sweeping off the ice field, adding a sense of adventure to the open, scenic landscape.
We provide travelers with trekking poles, helmets and give them a reusable water bottle.
